A proud, new owner for the Yamaha FZR 600

After pouring a ton of love and energy into the 1993 Yamaha FZR 600, it was finally time for her to go.  The new bike means less space in the garage, so it was time to look for a new owner for the o’ gal…

After a brief time on Craigslist, I was contacted by Abdoulaye, a young man from Africa, who was looking to get his first larger bike here in the states.  He told me he had ridden smaller 250cc bikes in his home country, but it was time for something bigger.  The Yamaha FZR 600 is a great choice for someone looking for some more power, speed, but without the crazy prices.

Seems like the bike will be a good fit for him, and that this was the right fit for the bike.  Obviously, when you put this much time into a bike, you want it to go to someone who will really appreciate it – and that smile says to me that there’s plenty of appreciation to go around…

I am feeling good about this fit.  It’s always a concern when someone jumps to the next size bike, but the upgrades done to this Yamaha FZR 600, should make this a safe ride.  Over the course of the time I had her, I upgraded the suspension (front and rear), the dash, the front brakes and a host of other things.  A cool bike to work on, she will be sorely missed.
