Cleaning this Honda XL250 is the first work that Kami has ever done on a bike…

The Honda XL250 has been in the shop for the past week, awaiting the beginning of the build.  I was chomping at the bit to get going, but waited for Kami to come down to the shop before getting started.  I wanted to make sure she was a part of each and every step of the process…

This bike was obviously ridden off-road, as evidenced by the extremely stubborn mud, caked to just about every inch of the poor thing.  Love to see that a 40 year old enduro was still being used to bring smiles to the face of the previous owner.

This Honda XL250 rebuild is going to be fairly straight forward, with an emphasis on making it safe and comfortable for a first time rider.  While Kami continues to clean, I will be working on getting some of the parts taken off, so that a more thorough look can be given to the carbs, and some of the electronics.

Old school...

Old school…

Can’t wait to see the smile on her face when the thing is fired up again, and is ready for riding off into the sunset…
