Motorcycle Ice racing captured in all its frozen glory…

Once again, our friend TJ Stacy headed out to the wilds of upstate NY to capture some motorcycle racing.  This time, the weather had turned to tundra like conditions, a far cry from the pleasant dirt track race we featured here back in October…

Motorcycle Ice Racing is a strange sport.  Wrap yourself up in as warm and protective clothing as possible, screw some spikes into your tires, and head out to a frozen pond.  None of this seems to make sense to the average person who typically chooses to hide from the cold…

Photographer TJ Stacy decided to join this strange bunch for an AMA event at Hurleyville, NY.  THIS SERIES is proof that some folks can’t let riding lapse for the entire winter – so they head out to these inhospitable locals for some winter-time fun.

TJ has been photographing motorcycles, and motorcycle events for quite some time, and we have featured a bunch of his work HERE.

You can check out more of TJ’s photos from this Motorcycle Ice Racing event, and many others, HERE.
