Like a bad parent, I am playing favorites…

The lonely Honda CB 550 K...

Everyone knows that rule number one to bad parenting is playing favorites.  Granted, grandparents can gt away with that shit.  But parents are NOT supposed to have a favorite child.  Imagine my surprise when I recognized that I had been favoring my new bike.  The old 1973 Honda CB 550 K had sat in a corner for a few months, while I poured my energy into the newer (to me) 1993 Yamaha FZR 600.   The guilt welled up in me as I pulled the CB 550 out of the garage, to use as my daily rider, for the time it would take me to repaint and modify the FZR 600… » Read more..

Yamaha FZR 600 Mods: Preparation for painting…

After hours of cleaning and cutting the rear side fairings of the 1993 Yamaha FZR 600, then peeling decals and cleaning up the larger, front fairings, it was time for the final prep for painting.  The last parts to remove were the front fairing (that the lights sit in), the tank, and the fender.  The fender and tank came off easy, twisted a few bolts and I was cleaning.  The front fairing was another story… » Read more..
