Really? Right in the danger-zone?

Scooter down...

I got this shot while flying by this poor scooter, and although it’s blurry, I trust that all who ride and park their bikes in NYC know this dreadful scene.  Nothing worse than coming outside to find that your bike has been laid down by an inattentive driver, fumbling to parallel park.  I have some inventions in the works, to help make sure that my bikes will remain upright, but anything short of leaning it against a large tree, there are no guarantees.  » Read more..

Left for Dead…but worse!

Bike Down!

I posted a photo of a poor, lonely bike, left on the side of the road to die.  It was missing its gas tank, and a bunch of other parts.  I pass it every day on my way to Moto Preserve, and was happy to see the other day that it had been covered.  But then this morning, I wander past, to find it knocked over in the street.  So sad.  I want to leave a note on it, letting the owner know that there are people, just blocks away, who would happily take this bike off their hands….

Finally, a bike up on the lift…

I guess we should be happy that we haven’t had a driving NEED to use the bike lift yet – since this would imply that our bikes were in a state of disrepair.  But man, we were dying to use it!  Last night, for the first time, a bike went up on the new lift….

Worked like a charm.

Moto Preserve becomes a home….

Well, after a ton of work, and a lot of sweat, the garage is now open.  There are still many things to be tweaked, but the gear is in, the benches are built, and the first few spaces have been claimed by riders.

We are looking forward to developing this community.  The idea of being surrounded by other riders who like to work on their bikes, makes us confident that the garage will grow into a space that can both shelter your scoot, and offer help with the fixes we all have in mind for our bikes.
