Custom Honda CB 750: tanks and engines…

Jarred has been toiling away on his Custom Honda CB 750, with a ton of cutting and welding up parts for the frame.  On a trip out to Harbor Freight awhile ago, we picked up an engine stand – which Jarred quickly modified to be able to hold the Honda engine by the motor mounts.  With a full 360 degree rotation, this makes things much easier for wrenching, cleaning and painting.

Next up was to get the tank back from Indian Larry, who were doing a pressure test to determine if all the welds were solid – and would hold fuel.  There are a couple fixes for the tank, but the thing is looking sweet, with custom gas cap, and will be ready to go very shortly.  As you can see from the photo above, jarred used a Bronze Braising technique to weld some of the parts, allowing hm to work at much lower temperatures, and not distort the shape of the surrounding steel…
