After machining the parts to make the rearsets functional, it became apparent that the brake lever was hanging up, with it’s movement restricted by common metals touching. A closer look at other designs showed that most rearsets use a design with brass or bronze bushings, to eliminate aluminum on aluminum rubbing.
So, back to the drawing board, and the lathe, for some new bushings and spacers made from Brass. Brass is a whole different animal, when i comes to the lathe, so it was slow progress, but eventually the parts were complete, and we are moving on…
