We found this great documentary called ’49 Year Ride,’ Produced and Directed by Marc Bencivenga of Clutch Monkey.  Focusing on Steve Leandro who runs a Santa Rosa, CA shop with his wife, that specializes in repairing and customizing Harleys…

’49 Year Ride’ showcases Steve, his take on new builders, and the interesting fact that there is a gap between his generation of builders and the one now – with a 20 year age difference.

Steve came up in the custom chopper scene of California, learning from legends like Austin Hall and Tony Aiello, who were only a few years older than he was.  The film compiles interview footage, as well as amazing Super 8 film from the 70’s, following a group of riders during the 1974 ‘Ride to the Redwoods’ event.

Steve now operates S&J motorcycles, building creations with his vast experience and knowledge.
