Jarred’s custom Honda CB750 is very close to completion, and one of the final pieces of the puzzle is wiring up the stripped down electrical system…
While there are plenty of diagrams for simple wiring, floating out there on the web, Jarred decided to design his own schematic, for this custom Honda CB750, to keep the electrics as sparse as possible.
The electrical system is based around an Antigravity Lithium battery, which is just 14 ounces. The smaller battery makes it easy to tuck away under the seat pan, and will keep the look clean. An upgraded combo Voltage Regulator and Rectifier, along with the stock stator complete the charging system.
For a moment, after getting it all wired up, it looked as if the electrical system might not be working. But after fishing around inside the headlight, checking to see if the ground was making good contact, Jarred realized the master fuse was blown. Disaster averted, and a quick replacement, the bike lit up like an xmas tree…
Jarred was able to wire the entire bike with cloth covered wire from Lowbrow Customs. Although a bit pricey, it gives a classy look to the bike, and keeps the exposed sections of the custom harness in line with the style of the build.
The only things left to do on this build are to get the ignition timed, clean and line the inside of the tank, and fire it up to tune the carbs. This thing is damn close, and we are looking forward to hearing it roar off into the sunset…
Is there possibly a diagram for the wiring system? I’m looking at using an antigravity in my bike and just want to make sure I get it right. Thanks
Craig, unfortunately I don’t have a copy of Jarred’s diagram here, but it would be something very similar to THIS ONE: Using the Anti-Gravity battery should not effect the wiring regardless of which diagram you use.
Good luck, and let us know if you have any specific questions.
Any issues with the 4 cell battery? I’m going kick only and modern reg/rec on my CB750 and was hoping to go with the same battery.
I don’t think there have been any issues with the battery, especially running kick only. I think when you try to add the starter – you need to up the cell count.
Don’t forget the special trickle charger.
please share the diagram to me, or if you can make it ill buy it
So sorry for the delay. Unfortunately, this was not my build. I do not have the schematic that he ended up with.
