Too many hipsters, sure.  Too much new construction, you bet!  Overcrowded streets and dangerous riding conditions, you got it!  But you have to hand to Williamsburg, Brooklyn for one thing: the sheer variety of motorcycles that you get to check out, up close and personal.

On any given day, you run the chance of walking past (or hear zoom by) almost every type of bike imaginable.  The other day we nabbed this photo op, capturing a ‘nest’ of motorcycles, from a few eras, all parked in a row.  You have the ever-present Ducati, the staple Honda CB350 and the less popular (but gaining) Kawasaki KZ650.

A tough looking crowd...

While we have become rather complacent about the plethora of bikes around here, it just takes a quick ride outside the city limits to realize that most areas focus on one bike style, or another.  Mostly, you run into the cruiser crowd, mile upon mile of similar looking scoots, with the extravagant flourishes all washing together.

We love all bikes, and the variety Brooklyn motorcycles offers a chance to catch a glimpse of so many models, it can make your head spin.  The upside is that you also get to intimately check them out, offering an opportunity to see what’s what, and which you might choose for your next ride…

  1. I must say that is one thing that made the trip to Brooklyn so great. I have never been in one area where I could see so many different models of bikes sitting and riding around, except for Vintage days swap meet and the like, everywhere you looked. In Columbus we get a lot of the same bikes rolling around, mostly Honda, and when you see something shoot by that you haven’t seen it’s a shock and then we try to figure out who it is. Columbus has a good vintage crowd and we know most of the guys and gals and what they ride and it isn’t to often that you see something out of the ordinary rolling around. Brooklyn is a great spot with a huge variety of vintage. Keep it up!
