Another Day at MotoPreserve…

Some days here at the garage are just for puttering around.  No big project, no heady custom parts fabrication, nothing sexy really.  But these days are some of my favorites…

The upcoming projects, and a bench that needs cleaning…

There is always something to clean, some mess worth straightening.  A little time to hang with the boys (and gals sometimes too), and get the place in order.  Little things get done, leaving more time for chit-chat.  The new year is approaching, and talk drifts to plans for certain bikes, fresh starts on new projects, and goals to be reached.

Sometimes you have so many projects going on that you start to feel weighed down – and this is not the best head-space to be in, when you are trying to get shit done.  Procrastination sets in, and the projects tend to stall.  On these days, it’s good to sit back and just enjoy the company.  The guys roll in and out of the shop, and you realize why you do this in the first place.  A sense of community, a feeling of belonging to the ‘club.’  These folks help you see the end of the road, and make the frustrating times a little less taxing.

Before you know it, time has flown by, and the day is nearly done.  You might feel as if you haven’t accomplished enough.  But if you step back, and look at it just right, you will realize that the day went perfectly.  A few good hours with some really great friends.  Doesn’t get much better than that, and sometimes that’s all the productivity you need…

Happy Holidays folks.

  1. Lazy days are some of the most productive days. It allows your mind to wander into areas on projects that may not have been possible if you were focused on any particular task. Sometimes we all need a day of dreaming and good old fashion shop talk to get us through the days. It’s what great bikes are made of!

    1. That’s why I’m counting on! :). I do love the shop talk, and the creative ideas that pop out of shooting the shit with the guys….
