Building a northern outpost…

Hard at work up in the northern territories of Vermont, desperately trying to get a comfortable place to work on vintage motorcycles before I leave for two months on tour…

Since the weather has been nasty, I took advantage of the time to build some benches and work stations for the metal tooling.

I’m not much for woodworking, but the access to cheap, used tools around here made it easy to grab the proper saws, and set out on the adventure of building this stuff without the expert advice from Mike and Christian at MotoPreserve.

It’s coming along slowly, but should be a good enough start forgetting some work done later in August.

I leave for tour with the band Son Volt in a days time, for the next 2 months, and wanted to have a shop to come home to. The availability of inexpensive donor bikes to work on up here would make a New Yorker cry. I’m looking forward to returning to a host of new (and old) projects, and getting some ride time in on the traffic-less roads of Vermont…

Have a great riding and wrenching season folks!
